An Overview of the Department of History
The Department of History was established in 1993 as the second UG department in the college. Since its inception History department is giving emphasis on both teaching and research. We are giving great emphasis to inspire the students to delve into history through experiential learning. In curricular and extra-curricular activities, our students have achieved great recognition including the university's first rank in the UG examination in 2018. We are organising national seminars and workshops every year in the department and organized national and international webinars in recent years. A Heritage Museum named Samskriti is attached to this Department depicting the ancient culture and tribal tradition of Wayanad. This center also works as a Research Facilitation and Interpretation Centre helping researchers with books and primary documents on Wayanad.
