• Kindle and tap the innate potentials of the students and acts as a platform to nurture and exhibit their artistic and creative abilities.
Our Mission
• To enhance and inculcate a sense of English Language, Literature and Communication Skills in global perspectives.
• To lay a firm foundation in Literature: Core English course provides a solid background in literary traditions, history and research.
• To help students see themselves as professionals, as part of a discipline with skills and abilities valuable in the business, teaching and publishing.
The Department of English Language and Literature became functional from July 2013 with the mission to infuse a sense of English Language, Literature and Communication Skills. The department conforms to the vision of the college by imparting quality education to all the students.
The students receive the nuances of literature from the first semester and excel in the multicultural and multilingual aspects of the global world. Being a dynamic department, the staff members tirelessly strive to work towards fulfilling the vision and mission of the institution by practising dedication and meticulousness. They constantly update themselves and continuously motivating the students. Thus our students end up becoming torchbearers of the society by uplifting themselves and others around them.
The department has executed a teaching-learning process that involves more participation by students. The classroom transaction is extensively interactive and the students be trained to identify how they are learning. And by this exercise, the students are expected to become effective monitors of their learning. The teaching method comprises training the students in capturing, storing, accessing, sharing, creating and applying knowledge.
The department looks for reading beyond the syllabus, and for independent, well-informed critical thinking. The department maintains the balance between a solid grounding in the essentials of the discipline, and the opportunity to specialize and to innovate.
